
Melting snow dripped down on these grasses growing next to a bridge in Chicago’s River West neighborhood. The water re-froze covering the plants and forming these ice nodules on the end.

I saw this “15 mph” sign sitting in the middle of the brush and found it quite fitting. But it wasn’t until I have the photos developed that I noticed the hand prints all over the metal drum. River West, Chicago.

This photo is not good, per-say, but it’s important to me. It’s an area of Chicago that I’ve been wanting to walk to for a while but never got up the nerve to do. It’s silly really, not going, but a couple weeks ago on a nice day I finally made it. I’ve seen coyotes out here. I’ve seen the plants and trees grow and grow since the buildings were torn down–the unstoppable forces of nature reclaiming the land.
