
It’s a little hard to tell due to the shallow depth of field in this photo, but that’s Nate looking at a sap collection bucket attached to a Sugar Maple tree. We attended the yearly Festival of the Sugar Maple in Coral Woods near Union, IL and learned how, throughout the ages, sap from the sugar maple tree was gathered and turned into either maple sugar or maple syrup.
