Last winter we attempted to distract our resident squirrels by leaving whole cobs of feed corn out at various spots in the yard. Being squirrels, they buried a lot of it. This was one of two dozen ears growing in various spots in our flower beds. This was the largest ear that grew. Most of the rest (of the ones we let grow) were much smaller.
